About me

I am a licensed medical doctor and an accredited psychoanalyst. I graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, completed two years of psychiatry residency training at Rush University Hospital, then six years of psychoanalytic training at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis. I also completed a master’s program in the humanities at the University of Chicago with a focus on critical theory and psychoanalysis and a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from Northern Arizona University. My training is rooted in science and medicine as well as humanistic and interdisciplinary study. I am not motivated by or interested in aligning with the medical-industrial complext to make patients “functional” capitalist subjects, but rather in helping people become active, enlivened agents in their lives, whatever form that may take. My multiplicity and unique breadth of life experience enable me to apply many interpretive lenses to my clinical work. I am licensed in Arizona, California, Illinois, New York, Virginia, and Texas.
