women’s issues
In addition to the sociocultural implications of femaleness, the biological aspects of being born female have large implications on one’s psychology, particularly around the menopause transition. It is well known that this is an underrepresented area in women’s health care. These are realities that I keep in mind with my female patients, while also being careful not to make any assumptions about their experience. I provide a welcoming environment for exploring the psychological challenges unique to this population, including medically informed discussions about hormone therapy.
